Under every layer of

added conversation, of

words spoken, the mind

stays heavy with excess

of day. Drowsy with the

numbing weight of images,

tonight you will sink

thousands of centuries

deep and lie bare, open to

the laws of the dark cave

where stirrings of stone

rage may burn your night

away to cinders and leave

you cleaving to air, falling

through words, through

moments, your mind frozen

and dizzying as the black

skies.

You struck a chord in me with the affirmation of sinking into the collective unconscious every night in my dreams.
